There are a few things to keep in mind when planning a European inspired wedding. First and foremost, your venue. The location at which you set your fête will set the tone for the entire event. If you’re lucky enough to have a venue in your area that evokes old world European charm, use it to your advantage! If not, look for European inspired architecture in your area to take portraits at and set your event in a natural, lush, outdoor area. The estate for Yana and David’s wedding was built in 1931 and was inspired by a French Chateau in the Loire Valley— with it’s stone exterior, columns, marble floors, hand-hewn doors and woodwork, and 17th century paintings imported from Italy and France.
It’s important to dress for the aesthetic of the destination you are inspired by! French fashion is chic and sophisticated but has an effortless feel to it. Our beautiful bride made such a statement in her lace gown—with her sheer extra long sleeves, mock turtleneck and corset bodice underlay. Pairing her subtle and fresh makeup and romantic whispy updo with simple jewelry created the perfect balance for her over the top gown. Lastly, it’s all in the details! We loved the elegant pairings on the tablescape— gray linen with gold rimmed vintage china, pearl flatware with beautiful etched glassware, and velvet napkins with cascading florals. European inspired florals are lush and mimic the way flowers grow in nature. For this day, we paired garden roses with autumn toned foliage and fruits. Lastly, incorporating a custom crest and monogram is the finishing touch in creating the European inspired event of your dreams!
